Kelly's Resort Hotel & Spa - Wexford

Dedicated staff met us on arrival, discussed allergy requirements etc, gave mobile number for any queries while there, checked on us, took our order and served dinners to my little boy (3 years at the time). So obliging with our requests, allergy requirements - first time I felt semi at ease eating out. Job well done there.

This is a brilliant allergy friendly hotel with great facilities for family members of all ages. The staff were so helpful and accommodating throughout our 3 night stay and the food was delicious. We made the hotel aware of our son’s tree nut and sesame allergy at the time of booking. At check in, the hotel manager gave us an overview of their allergy management procedures and reassured us that they were very accustomed to dealing with guests with multiple allergies. We were assigned an individual chef who cooked all my son’s meals throughout our stay. A time was set up for us to meet the chef shortly after we arrived so that we could discuss what meals my son would like to eat. The dishes didn’t have to be from the menu - he could have anything he wanted. Nothing was a problem. Breakfast was served directly from newly opened boxes of cereal and cartons of milk for my son each morning. His lunch and evening meals were freshly cooked from scratch by the chef. For dessert, the hotel have a self service freezer with lots of different types of ice lollies for children. It was a great novelty for the children to select an ice lolly from the freezer and they had lots of HB nut free options. We ate with the children in the Ivy dining room each lunch and evening, which is adjacent to a playroom for under 4s and a games room for older children. Both rooms are fully supervised by qualified childcare staff. There is the option to drop the children in these rooms once they have eaten so that parents can enjoy their meal together in the evening. We did this on one evening and showed the staff in both rooms how to use our adrenaline pens. The rooms were directly accessible to the restaurant and at a very close distance, should any issues have arisen. Finding availability is the main downside to the hotel as it is booked up for months in advance. However, the fact that it is so popular is testament to the wonderful service it provides.
