We were in Nottingham for the day seeing our daughter’s doctor and wanted somewhere a bit different for lunch.
We came across this place online and decided to check it out.
They have loads of nice coffees and teas.
Our daughter has recently been diagnosed with a fish allergy but this was fine as they didn’t have any fish (they said they might do salmon dishes in the future) in the kitchen today. She had avocado and sourdough.
We had super food salad and vegan dishes. Even though our boy wasn’t with us we asked them to remove the nuts from the recipe and they were really sweet about this. They explained if they have someone with an allergy they make the food in a separate area.
The only observation I would make and I think this applies to loads of cafes is that it would be really hard for certain allergies - milk and nuts to have things like the the cakes as whilst they looked amazing (and tasted great - we had a caramel one) they were all displayed next to each other. I think loose cakes present a real cross contact risk so it would be amazing if places did do cakes that were free from certain allergens, if they could store them separately to give more people a better chance of trying them.
Would go back next time I am in Nottingham.
Menu Top Tips
- Good variety of options, but not too many, so they have a good handle on ingredients but make sure you make clear what you can and can’t have. Cakes probably off limits for some allergies due to close storage.
Venue Top Tips
- Sit near the front window and people watch
