I’m always really happy when I visit Bills and this branch was no exception. We were asked at the door about allergies and the server then directed me to scan the QR code to view the allergen menu. Everything was clearly labelled including may contains which always makes me feel more comfortable. I wanted to make some changes to my meal and the server was more than happy to swap items in the breakfast for me. When the food arrived it had allergy flags in and the server repeated that it was for a nut allergy. A great experience as usual!

The queues to get in here were big so after looking at the menu to see if there were options for tree nut allergies and milk and egg intolerances, we booked a table. There were options for all of us and I felt reassured when I heard servers asking people as they entered if there were any allergies but when it came to our server, she did not ask! I obviously told her and my daughters food (nut allergy) came out separate with and allergen label on it and we chose a meal from the kids menu, that their key identified as nut free. However, I noticed on the adult menu that there was a meal option that included chestnuts but it did not have a “n” in the description to identify it as including nuts. I have double checked in case it was me being a bit silly, that chestnuts are included as a “tree nut” which obviously they are. It did make me a tad nervous that maybe they aren’t as assertive as I was led to believe. There were quite a few vegan dishes which helped me with my intolerance to eggs and cows milk. Also, this isn’t food related but think it’s something to make you aware of. The toilets are mixed, with separate male/female cubicles included. I like to think I am welcome to changes like this but being at the sink with my daughter and having a man using a cubicle next to us with the door open, like a urinal, didn’t make for a comfortable experience. Oh and the toilets are downstairs.

    Menu Top Tips

The meal sizes are small so if you can, I suggest older children choosing from the adult menu and definitely double check the description rather than relying on the key.

    Venue Top Tips

Pre book a table, make sure your server is aware of allergens and probably best to not let older children go to the toilet alone (saying older children because I know younger children will always be accompanied)

    Recommended Dish

I had the Hippy Bowl as it was vegan to avoid cows, milk and eggs.
