Pizza Express - Farnham

I noted my peanut allergy on the booking and as soon as we were sat they asked who had the allergy. They directed me to the website which I had looked at in advance and is very detailed. Next to every menu item there is an ‘I’ and when you select it. it tells you which allergens the dish contains and which it may contain, it is even broken down into specific tree nuts which is brilliant. The manager took my order and checked the items on his tablet to make sure I had definitely chosen food that was ok. He assured me that no nuts or peanuts are on the menu as an ingredient but had to give the usual blanket statement that they cannot guarantee anything is allergen free. My starter and main came out identified as the ‘allergy’ dish and with the wooden stick. My only criticism is that the food wasn’t great, the garlic bread had so much garlic on it almost burned my mouth, it was tasty and I love garlic but by the third slice I had to scrape a load off, they did acknowledge this though and not charge me. I had BBQ ribs for my main, they were tasty but quite dry and the corn on the cob didn’t have any butter with it. My friends all enjoyed their meals so I wonder if mine was made separate and sat waiting for the others. All in all we had a good evening and the food was ok, I will visit again because I felt very safe and it is cheaper than lots of other restaurants.
