We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel by the O2 arena recently and were so well looked after! Hotel breakfasts are always a bit of a trial as everywhere seems to do buffets (cross contamination nightmare). We spoke to the lady at check in who immediately contacted the restaurant and put a note on our room. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning, the wonderful lady on the front desk was already aware of my allergy and walked us round the buffet so we could pick what we wanted and then had everything freshly prepared and brought to the table! There were even some vegan vegetable sausages which were amazing as I had said I don’t like meat replacements so wouldn’t have sausages. She also checked in on us multiple times and made the whole experience so relaxed and enjoyable. We go to the O2 a lot and this will definitely be our chosen hotel for future visits!

I had afternoon tea here in 2019 and had a brilliant experience so booked again when visiting the O2. Allergies notified and acknowledged in advanced. When the afternoon tea was served my tower was separate to my families and was told these were my ‘safe’ adapted versions. As always, I had a good look at each thing and thought that the ‘dairy free’ clotted cream looked so much like the real thing so got my Mum to taste it and she was sure it was normal cream. We noticed that on my family's tray there was something that looked like butter - they tried this and were sure it was butter. We called waitresses back over and they assured me it was all fine and I asked for her to go to the kitchen and check again. She came back and laughed and said yes we have muddled the trays up but the rest is fine. After another request she bought me a new dairy free butter but by that point I’d lost all faith and barely ate another thing. They really thought it was funny. This was a gift from my Mum so it was very awkward and ruined everyone’s day. The manager finally contacted me and offered to refund my tea and I asked for the service charge to be refunded. A month later no refund. Chased twice, finally got a refund for the tea.
