Harry Ramsden's - Great Yarmouth

Spent a lovely day at the sea front and had always planned on getting chips for tea. Saw the Harry Ramsdens earlier in the day and thought excellent, a big company will have allergen info. Asked if the chips were suitable for son with nut, peanut and sesame allergy and was told all the oil is filtered together so absolutely no way to say what the oil may contain. I clarified, even the chips, yes even the chips. My vegetarian niece said, but I thought the chips were vegetarian? Staff member said they are not as all cooked in same oil. Asked for a refund on the halumi and chips ordered and paid for as this was done on the understanding it was vegetarian. Refused to refund. Checked with colleague and thinks chips are vegetarian but not sure. Went down the road to sea front stall where they confidently told us there was nothing but potato and vegetable oil in the chips and nothing else cooked in the oil.
