Cream of the Coast - Bushmills

Cream of the Coast is situated in the carpark of the scenic Magheracross viewpoint, approximately midway between Portrush and the Giant’s Causeway. They serve whipped ice cream with various toppings and hot and cold drinks. They also have a selection of dairy free gelato tubs and ice lollies. The area has picnic benches and two spectacular viewing platforms that extend out to the edge of the cliffs, with stunning views of Whiterocks beach and the ruins of Dunluce Castle. My son has a nut allergy and we were hesitant about ordering initially when we heard that they have Kinder Bueno and Nutella toppings. The manager who took our order was very friendly and helpful. She reassured me that the nut items were in their own separate bain maries and that they could take steps to avoid any cross contact. As soon as we placed our family order, all 6 members of staff working in the van changed their gloves immediately. My son’s ice cream was prepared first and handed out to him straight away to minimise risk. All items used for his sundae were taken from freshly opened boxes. We really enjoyed our delicious ice creams in such a beautiful setting and will be back!
